I am an Alachua County resident who has been very frustrated with trying to get explanations and data from the Supervisor of Elections (SOE) office about the conduct of our elections.  I have served as a poll worker on EVID machines, a poll watcher, an observer of the ballot canvassing sessions, a signature match comparison participant, and voter registration researcher.  Working with election integrity volunteers in Defend Florida, Florida Fair Elections Coalition, and Impact Alachua, I have reached the conclusion that the only way to obtain meaningful change in Alachua is from the inside.  As a practicing Registered Nurse, my career has been focused on promoting the health of mothers and babies.  This passion for healthy elections has taken me on the path of becoming a candidate for SOE.

•                 My goals are centered around making Alachua County an example of election excellence instead of the embarrassment it currently is.  I will:

  ·       Manage an election system that provides Alachua County citizens with confidence in our election results.

  ·         Provide transparency in how votes are processed and counted

  ·         Reduce/eliminate the “proprietary” influence that limits access to our public information

  ·         Increase citizen decision making and reduce the Florida Supervisors of Elections (FSE) organization’s influence at the county level

  ·         Provide the cleanest voter rolls and smoothest elections in the state of Florida

  ·         Work with citizen research groups to proactively identify questionable registrations and clarify their legitimacy

A vote for me will assure non-partisan fairness in our SOE office.  It will assure that citizens can obtain the data transparency they need to assure themselves that the statutes and laws are being followed.  A proactive approach to problems will forestall election day problems like faulty ballots or running out of ballots, as happened in 2022.  Vote for election excellence from a proven leader and health professional dedicated to the citizens of Alachua county.
